A Dead Nation

Above all desires, pondering

Over the nothingness that surrounds

Blocks all visions, hinders all sounds

Oblivion is nothing, but a dream

But we choose to live in ignorance

Change brings on an ugly nostalgia

Memories, wanting to be forgotten

The corpses lie in their graves, rotten

Holding on to beliefs, that show no light

Our greed has killed traces of insight

There’s only “me”, there is no “you”

And what grows old, loses its worth

Just as our values, our virtues did

Its only a dead nation, nothing more

Slaughtered by its hands, on its own.

Still Here

Broken, beyond repair

There’s deadness in the air

The arms that used to comfort me

Are no longer there

Caravans of tears, I have cried

In the depth of my mind, I’m terrified

A million little pieces, that can’t be re-collected

A crumbled tower, that can’t be resurrected

Time crawls by, and I’m still here

At a lost junction, in the middle of nowhere

This City

I live in a city, where the traffic never stops

And the mind can never rest, till the breath ends

It’s a city of lights, of selfish desires

Where the nights never sleep, and the days are long

I live in a city, where appearances matter

Where information is abundant and knowledge, in a dearth

This city is the nightmare, I’ve been living since birth

Where relationships are not built, but broken

Where people are miserable, and the misery is unspoken

Where lust is sold in the name of baseless love

Where the only laughter is a mockery of the simpler

You might want to stay on, but I no longer do

Can You Catch the Wind?

The breezy rhythm of Mother Nature
Its beauty, of unspoken stature

This wind, that blows the sand away

Minutes to hours, go astray

Yet, winds of time were never mine

They left me to regret and whine

I used my hands to see if I

Could capture the breeze that blows by,

I closed my eyes to touch the sky

To feel the clouds, that often cry

Yet winds of time were never mine,

They left me to regret and whine!

I’ve heard, all is within your range

If you believe, what they hold strange

I placed my faith in an unworthy crime

I tried to catch, what never was mine

It passed me by, it had places to go

It touched me gently, escaping me so

For, winds of time could not be mine

They left me to regret and whine!

The agony of loss has finally taught

Never should try, what you cannot

For the sun, the moon, the stars that shine

The motile breeze, are all divine

The wind, be it of weather or time

Refuses to be captured, leaves us in a shrine.

PEACE...A DISTANT DREAM

Have you ever got the feeling?

Of screaming and not being heard,

Have you ever felt the urge?

To fly free like a bird.

All we see is bombs and shelling

And innocent blood on the ground

To us, the laughter of little children

Is only a distant sound.

We saw happy dreams

Only to be left unfulfilled

We did nothing wrong,

Yet now, we are being killed.

Just try to listen and you will hear

The sobs of a child, crying in fear

He sits by his mother’s corpse in blood

While from his eyes, flows a flood.

Where are the days, when people smiled?

When the peaceful dove flew high,

But now, there’s only smoke from bombs

That clouds the once clear sky

What is the rule of this cruel world?

Are rules left at all?

The rule, that asks for death of men

And mighty buildings fall

Let’s try to stop this hatred!

Let’s open the door to peace!

Let’s raise our hands in prayer!

To make this cruelty cease!
